Within a changing retail landscape and a need for new retail experiences and services, Thomas Schaper Design was asked by investor Hermann Klaas, to develop an Experience Master Plan for a new to built shopping mall in Rheine / Germany. The aim was to create a unique and stunning experience with art, sound, water, furniture and tactile objects, that invites the visitor to stay. Intimate spaces within a generous architecture has been created. In cooperation with Joost van Daalen and Mothership Rotterdam, a highly recognisable blend between graphic design, art and interior design has been achieved. Thomas Schaper Design led the art direction during construction phase and the 5 year post occupancy phase.
